Welcome to EquiCatalyst Connections

We are a trauma-informed, family-supported equine therapy practice rooted in authenticity, empathy, and the healing power of nature.

At EquiCatalyst, therapy doesn’t always happen in an office. Sometimes it happens while brushing a horse in the sunshine, standing still in a quiet pasture, or learning to breathe again in rhythm with your body. We offer a unique space for growth and healing — one grounded in connection, both human and horse.

Led by Dr. Ariel Place, PsyD, LPCC, and her husband Justin Schendel, our work is supported by a circle of caring ranch friends, devoted horsepeople, and Ariel’s mother Deborah, who brings steady presence and loving support to the land we care for. This is not just a therapy setting — it’s a working ranch community that welcomes you in.

Whether you're navigating trauma, burnout, transitions, or simply feeling disconnected, you’ll find space here to slow down, tune in, and reconnect with what matters most — in yourself and in others.

Healing Through Horses

“This was unlike anything I’ve done in therapy. The horses helped me feel safe in a way I didn’t expect.”
